It has been declared historical-artistic monument. In the XII century it was the scenery of two important episodes of the history of Galicia with the fights between Diego Xelmirez and Dona Urraca who, as told in Compostelan history, will end up with jail for the prelade in two occassions.

This church with romanic origin only preserves from the medieval era, the façade which is composed by a semicircle abside preceded by a straight part. The nave, today baroque, is rectangular as the old one may have been. The church is completed with a belfry located between the chancel and the nave. The complex presents a remarked horizontality that pretends to be hidden by the enormous pinnacles on the top of the rampants of the church’s body.

Inside the church the wall paintings stand out with scenes of the passion and the Final Judgement, painted between the XV and the XVI century. The are in good condition thanks to a recent restoration.
